Lee Gold

I've been reading SF since I was in junior high. I got into science fiction fandom back in 1967, when I was in grad school. I've got too many favorite authors to give a top ten list but a random sampling would include Tolkien, Bujold, Brust, Kipling, Kage Baker, Sharon Lee & Steve Miller, Cabell, Heinlein up through The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, and Asimov up through The Gods Themselves.

I'm also interested in...
Arthurian and general Celtic folklore,
Norse folklore,
Japanese folklore and language,
Judaica and Hebrew,
Reading random articles in the Britannica

I write roleplaying game material. I publish a monthly RPG APA that began back in 1975 and is still appearing regularly. I've also written a number of professional game products including GURPS JAPAN, VIKINGS (for Iron Crown Enterprises), and material on Japanese Gaki for White Wolf's Vampire: The Masquerade.

I am a member of The Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society (LASFS)

I write filksongs but rely on my husband Barry to sing them for me.

Barry and I are in the Filk Hall of Fame.

There is a Wikipedia article about me.

NEW (12/13/2012): Barry and I have put together a list of references in The Rainbow Affair by David McDaniel.

Lee's filk publications are no longer available for sale. This applies to "Xenofilkia", "Dr. Jane's Songs", and "The Cynthia McQuillan songbook".

I have written a set of plot summaries for a continuation of the TV series Wizards and Warriors. See Lee's Wizards and Warriors Webpage.
